so much wisdom out there today… or maybe I am just more open to it than usual… what are you doing to BE IN the mystery rather than hiding from it or trying to figure it out?

Great quote from Sogyal Rinpoche. Sitting with my own stormy thoughts today, though not on the zafu or gomden… breathing in, breathing out, knowing that this will pass and trying to sit in the pause between breaths for refuge…

Everything Matters: Beyond Meds

Whatever thoughts and emotions arise in meditation, allow them to rise and settle, like the waves in the ocean. Whatever you find yourself thinking, let that thought rise and settle, without any constraint. Don’t grasp at it, feed it or indulge it, don’t cling to it, don’t try to solidify it. Neither follow thoughts nor invite them; be like the ocean looking down at its own waves, or the sky gazing down on the clouds that pass across it.

You will soon find that thoughts are like the wind; they come and go. The secret is not to “think” about the thoughts but to allow them to flow through your mind, while keeping your mind free of afterthoughts. — Sogyal Rinpoche

For a relationship to be sustainable and progressing, there must be trust. Trust is the foundation which any successful relationship is built upon. But, trust have to be earned. I mean, can we simply ask someone to place his or her trust in us? Besides, trust cannot be simply accorded just because of seniority or the positions we hold.

I believe we should get rid of things that are holding us back and focus on spending more of our time doing positive things…

Habits

Add your thoughts here… (optional)

Life is but a dream!

Without freedom from the past there is no freedom at all, because the mind is never new, fresh, innocent. It is only the fresh, innocent mind that is free. Freedom has nothing to do with age, it has nothing to do with experience; and it seems to me that the very essence of freedom lies in understanding the whole mechanism of habit, both conscious and unconscious. It is not a question of ending habit, but of seeing totally the structure of habit. You have to observe how habits are formed and how, by denying or resisting one habit, another habit is created. What matters is to be totally conscious of habit; for then, as you will see for yourself there is no longer the formation of habit. To resist habit, to fight it, to deny it, only gives continuity to habit. When you fight a particular habit you give life…
