Archive for the ‘Awards’ Category

I was nominated for this award by thetruthwarrior.wordpress.com.  Take a look at this quote from a post:

So how do we start loving ourselves?

We start with ~

~ Just being gentle and kind to ourselves for where we are right now.

~ Treat ourselves how we would treat a lover.

~ Taking ourselves out for a date and make ourselves feel special and wonderful.

~ Saying No and saying Yes, when it feels true for us to do so.

Trusting the voice within.

~ Not comparing ourselves to anybody or anything.

~ Saying yes to who you are and all that you can be.

~ Just being good to ourselves.

~ Trusting ourselves and letting go of all expectations and need.

~ Saying to ourselves that we really are doing our best.

~ Saying its okay to be me.

~ Embracing, accepting and loving the beautiful, fantastic person that you are!!! ”

That’s just brilliant! And how could that not make you want to go back again and again and again.

I adore this blog!

So here are the rules of The Versatile Blogger Award are
  • Thank the person who gave you this award. That’s common courtesy.
  •  Include a link to their blog. That’s also common courtesy — if you can figure out how to do it.
  •  Next, select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
  •  Nominate those 15 bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award
  •  Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

So here goes 7 things about myself;

    1. I want to go to Prague and Budapest when my PhD is completed.  And I would love to do the Poland Retreat with Roshi Bernie Glassman and the Zen Peacemakers.
    2. I’m an INFJ in the Myers-Briggs personality test .
    3. My life is about to change in a big way.
    4. I love going on retreat and could do it all the time. . . I don’t get much chance to go any more.
    5. I am happiest when I am by the shore and with those I love.
    6. I am tired of theories and books.  I want to be here, now, and be present.
    7. I like to dance in the dark and moonbathe.

Now, to nominate 15 other bloggers with the Versatile Blogger award. I wish I could nominate all of my favorites because I seriously love you all, but I’m only allowed to pick 15. Here they are (in no particular order):

1.  alternativeeconomy.wordpress.com

2.  silverpoetry.wordpress.com

3.  talesfromthelou.com

4.  weaveyourstory.wordpress.com

5.  manipalphotoblog.wordpress.com

6.  ahimsamaven.wordpress.com

7.  womeninwellnessproject.com

8.  livingawarenessmeditation.net

12.  fleetmaull.com

13.  mindmindful.wordpress.com

14.  microwavemeditations.com

Peace, Jennifer

Beautiful Blogger Award

I am happy to announce that Thomas at onlyhereonlynow.com  and Wendy at  meaningfulwesternlife.com have both nominated this blog for the Beautiful Blogger Award!  I am truly touched by their kindness and really enjoy both of their blogs.

I’ve been following Wendy’s blog for a while now and really enjoy her posts.  I think there is some overlap in the things that we have a passion for. . . mindfulness, mediation. . . creating a peaceful life filled with compassion and purpose.  Check out the meditation downloads that she has offered to us on her blog!

Thomas and I also have passions that crossover.  He shares on his about page living with aging parents, living with dying in the family, and living with someone he loves who has a forgetfulness disorder.  I can appreciate all of those things as they are my story as well.

I came to wordpress to find some sanity, to create community, and to get reacquainted with that which means the most to me in life. . . I feel so blessed that we have this larger community in which we can all connect through blogs and comments.

We help each other to remember our greatest good, our most important lessons, and that we are all interconnected.

Thank you so much for your nominations.

The rules of the Beautiful Blogger award are:

  1. Thank the one who nominated you by linking back

It’s been 10 months since I began blogging. As of this moment, I have 160 followers (includes facebook friends) from 11 countries.  I have written 185 posts and have received ,2,485 hugs (hits).  Who’d have thought that writing an online journal would attract so many from all over the world.  It still boggles my mind.

This is my first nomination for any award and I am humbled to say the least!
